Vilnius
The design concept for the Vilnius Concert Hall is inspired by the notion of “Tautos Namai” or House of Nations, conceived as an open, welcoming pavilion structure that invites visitors from around the globe. The building is thoughtfully integrated into the existing Tauras Hill Park, featuring a public terrace that surrounds it, providing stunning views both inside and of the picturesque Vilnius skyline. Silence as a Prerequisite for Enjoying Music: A fundamental requirement for appreciating musical performances in concert halls is maintaining a particularly low background noise level. This noise level, derived from both internal sources and external disturbances, should not exceed 25 dB (A) in a quality concert hall. To achieve this, careful investment in and positioning of the individual functional areas within the building is essential. The design includes spacious foyer zones surrounding the concert hall, ensuring adequate spatial separation between the performance areas and other sound-sensitive parts of the building. This arrangement not only meets the necessary acoustic standards but also creates an optimal environment for exceptional sound quality. Quirin Krumbholz & Rupert Zallmann
