LICHTENAU
The renovation and interior redesign of this Gründerzeit apartment, abandoned for 50 years, aimed to balance its historic charm with modern functionality. A light-filled bathroom now serves as a divider between the two bedrooms, while also bringing natural light into the previously dark hallway. The hallway has been transformed into a practical storage space with a continuous shelf wall that also functions as a discreet door leading to the living room. Inside, the apartment features ample storage through endless wardrobes, a floating kitchen island, and a palette of soft, muted tones that create a sense of calm. The design is focused on simplicity and usability, offering an inviting space for modern living. Tanja Lightfoot and Rupert Zallmann
