PURPLE DISCO
Tucked into the depths of Krugerstraße 6, Purple Discothek is an interplay between raw architecture and curated ambiance. Its design draws upon the gritty charm of underground spaces, embracing the existing structure’s rough edges and enhancing them with an industrial aesthetic. Ready-made materials—galvanized steel fencing, raw concrete, and metallic cladding—serve as both functional and decorative elements, giving the space a distinctive identity. The two dancefloors pay homage to the classic disco era, offering a dynamic environment where music and design converge. A carefully integrated LED lighting system, concealed behind steel fencing, bathes the space in atmospheric hues of red and purple. This reactive lighting responds to the DJ's music, creating an ever-evolving visual narrative that envelops the multi-level dancefloors. In contrast to the vibrant main spaces, the cocktail bar is nestled in a cozy, cave-like enclave bathed in purple tones. This intimate setting provides a softer counterpoint, offering guests a space for quieter, more personal interactions while maintaining the club's cohesive design language. Purple is more than a nightclub—it’s a spatial experience that fuses industrial sensibilities with immersive cultural energy. Georg Buchegger & Rupert Zallmann Photos: Mato Johannik
