MEYER & FREUNDE
The fusion of corner shop and fine dining is made possible through the design of a continuous, flowing table that seamlessly transitions from cashier counter to shop display to fine dining surface. This uninterrupted element connects the different aspects of the space, creating a sense of unity between the casual and the refined, and inviting guests to move fluidly between shopping and dining. The design enhances the culinary experience by engaging all the senses, turning a simple visit into a memorable journey. Perforated metal sheets, custom-designed for the shelving, allow light to filter through, casting subtle patterns that highlight the products on display. This interplay of light and shadow creates a dynamic backdrop that makes the goods feel almost curated, as if each item is part of the overall design. The pillars, clad in sleek black tiles with smooth edges, are accented by a vibrant yellow grout, adding a playful contrast and warmth to the space. This combination of materials brings together the practicality of the corner shop and the sophistication of a fine-dining environment, resulting in a space that feels both grounded and elevated. It’s a thoughtful blend of function and aesthetics, aimed at delivering an experience that resonates beyond taste alone. Rupert Zallmann
