Bauhaus
The design of the Bauhaus History project unites the clarity of the Bauhaus's characteristic form language with the interdisciplinary interplay of contemporary technologies and materials. The Dessau City Park provides the perfect foundation for making the history and phenomenon of Bauhaus accessible and engaging for both residents and visitors. An open-access area that flows from the urban space into the park features interactive elements that embody and narrate the Bauhaus story, creating a sustainable symbiosis between "Bauhaus Dessau," the city park, and the urban environment. The aim of this area is to highlight the revolutionary idea of integrative and interdisciplinary thinking that was prevalent during the Bauhaus era. By combining fixed elements with spaces for interchangeable objects and workshops in the park, the Bauhaus phenomenon can be reinterpreted and expanded over time. At the northeastern corner of the park, this area becomes denser, transforming into a multifunctional base for the well-proportioned exhibition spaces that harmoniously integrate into the sightlines and building alignments of the surrounding architecture.
