KAYA DENT
Rethinking the traditional dental clinic, KAYA DENT shifts the perception of the dentist from a place of fear into a space of playful curiosity and comfort. Within the juxtaposition of a polished concrete floor and an undulating topographical ceiling, a dynamic “playing field” emerges—defined by three distinct elements, each expressed through a unique combination of material and form. The first of these elements is a sweeping structure of curved bamboo, which gracefully greets patients upon entry. This organic form blends the front desk with the back office, creating a fluid and natural transition between the public and functional spaces. The bamboo continues its curve into a gentle fountain, providing not only refreshment but also a visual marker for the waiting area—a calming, tactile invitation to pause and relax. The second element, a soft black wall, bends sinuously through the space. This wall acts as a subtle guide, shaping the flow of movement and creating a sense of mystery. At its core, the wall opens with heavy curtains, leading into intimate powder rooms, all cloaked in deep, inviting shades of black. The darkness here is not oppressive but rather enveloping, offering a sense of privacy and retreat within the clinic. The third element is a striking cube made of dichroic glass and mirrors, its appearance constantly shifting depending on the viewer’s angle. This ever-changing, reflective surface creates a dynamic interplay of light and perspective, filtering the surrounding space into a kaleidoscope of colors and reflections. Inside this ethereal cube lies the clinic's sterilization station, while the space behind it unfolds into the treatment areas. The treatment zones themselves are designed to maintain a balance between openness and privacy. Inflatable walls form flexible partitions, providing a soft, tactile boundary between the stations. Coupled with a subtle sound installation, these walls ensure that patients can engage in confidential conversations with their doctor while still feeling the spaciousness of the environment. The design carefully considers both the emotional and sensory experience, fostering an atmosphere of relaxation and trust. KAYA DENT is more than a dental clinic—it’s an immersive, thoughtfully crafted environment where architecture and design collaborate to ease the senses, turning a routine visit into a serene and playful journey.
